Applied Theatre India Foundation, popularly known as “ATI Foundation” is India’s first academic institute to offer formal education in the field of Applied Theatre. Inspired by Theatre Resource, ATI Foundation is dedicated towards education and interdisciplinary research in Applied Theatre. Though applied theatre is a fairly a new idea in the Indian society, it is very much useful in diverse areas. Applied Theatre simply means application of theatre to help people learn. This methodology is used in schools, old age homes, government and non-government organizations, business and industries. ATI Foundation covers essential aspects of this methodology and provides students with practical exposure to applied theatre practices on a national and international spectrum.
To make applied theatre an integral part of the core education system and organizational culture in India, where the tools of creative and dramatic exploration lead to a world of more positive and respectful interactions.
- To make applied theatre a part of mainstream education in India
- To promote cultural entrepreneurship in the Indian Society
- To promote interdisciplinary research in the area of applied theatre
Dialogue, Diversity and Inclusivity are the three core values that ATI Foundation believes in. Our entire structure is based on these values and we strongly believe that these values also reflect in each part of the society.
This three day unique program is focused on enhancing the facilitation skills of existing trainers.
The program focuses on how to use theatre in education.
This online and offline integrated course helps students to explore various possibilities of getting engaged in a society in various creative ways. This course develops an understanding towards the use of applied theatre in various fields such as schools, NGOs, corporate, diverse community spaces, prisons, and special education to name a few, and equip students with necessary skill sets. During this course students will develop an ability to handle a group of specific participants using various dramatic tools and involve them in a process of learning and exploration.
1. Theatre for Community Development
2. Theatre in Education
3. Theatre for Learning and Development
We have qualified and experienced faculty in their respective areas. They have not only studied applied theatre but also practiced and made a difference in the society through their practices.
Our campus is located at Mumbai, the cultural capital of Maharashtra. A well-equipped classroom, ample parking space and an inclusive space will help students to learn in a very supportive environment. It is also convenient if you decide to travel from nearby cities.
ATI Foundation's approach towards this course is very practical and hence we have provided continuous mentoring support, separate modules in art and cultural entrepreneurship and encouragement to students in research. ATI Foundation is the first institute to offer online and offline integrated courses to make learning more effective, time saving and cost effective.
Learning is our primary focus and hence we have an academic advisory committee who constantly reviews the syllabus to make it relevant with the changing times. The committee consists of international faculty and industry experts.
We did a recent mime workshop organized by ATI Foundation and facilitated by Kunal. It was a wonderful experience. He made everything so simple and easy to understand and bring into practice. I think it was a super workshop on Mime.
The storytelling workshop organized by ATI Foundation gave us an opportunity to connect with some like-minded people and to share a common space. We not just learnt from each other but got some interesting tools to enhance our skill. The workshop was wonderfully facilitated by Manasee.
Amazing platform created by ATI Foundation for learning. I would love to hear and participate more. It was amazing learning with facilitator Radhika in the workshop.
Applied Theatre India Foundation is very clear on why it exists and it does not want to compromise on the essence of Applied Theatre. I feel it is very reliable, true to its core.
Dedicated team working to make Applied Theatre a more celebrated concept in India. I am sure this is not a far-fetched dream. All the best, Kaustubh and Team ATI Foundation.
We experience more than lectures in the workshop organized by ATI Foundation. It feels transformation is possible with theatre games. I strongly recommend this type of sessions.
Many experiences in our life bring us closer to you. I met myself after a long time in a playback theatre workshop organized by Applied Theatre India Foundation and facilitated by Radhika.
Would surely recommend ATI Foundation. Just finished a workshop on mime facilitated by Kunal. Learnt a lot and will use it in my field of work. Thank you Applied Theatre India Foundation for this opportunity.
Applied Theatre India Foundation is really committed to their goal and possess the necessary strengths to achieve it taking along others who share their vision.
ATI has a very practical approach in its functioning. The choice of courses and the facilitators is done diligently. I recently attended the Puppetry workshop curated by Rinti ji. It was a wonderful experience and there was much to learn. Hands-on training and sharing practical advise was the hallmark. Real time demonstrations and follow-up really made a difference! Thanks ATI Foundation.
